Toms makes large donation to end gun violence in America.

A popular footwear company is donating 5 million dollars to end gun violence. Toms founder, Blake Mycoskie, appeared on the Late Show With Jimmy Fallon Monday night. He discussed with the former SNL actor why he made such a big donation. He told Fallon His wife was distressed after the recent mass shooting in Thousand Oaks California, and the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. So Mycoskie told Fallon he thought to himself, “You know what? Damn it. We’re going to do something about this.”

Toms shoes has a one-for-one business model. Whenever a customer buys a pair of shoes from Toms, Toms donates one pair to a child in need. Toms also has a few other one-for-one products including sunglasses. Now, Mycoskie says they are evolving their one-for-one model, “Toms will not only give shoes. But we will give considerable resources to the causes and most important issues of our time. And we are going to start by giving 5 million dollars to the most amazing organizations who are working hard on the ground everyday to end gun violence,”.
