Former President Donald Trump appeared at the first day of the 2024 Republican Convention. He announced on Truth Social that 39-year-old Senator JD Vance of Ohio will be his running mate.

This announcement, made on the opening day of the GOP Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, solidifies Trump’s commitment to be re-elected on the America First agenda.

Trump’s announcement came via his Truth Social platform, where he praised Vance’s dedication to American workers and farmers, particularly in key swing states in the Rust Belt.

“After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator JD Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” Trump posted.

He emphasized Vance’s role in championing the interests of the working class across Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and beyond.
