Trump Unleashes Profanity-Laced Easter Threat At Iran After U.S. Special Forces Pull Off Dramatic Rescue Of Downed F-15 Colonel From Iranian Mountains

DEVELOPING STORY — President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Easter Sunday morning with a profanity-laced ultimatum aimed directly at Tehran, hours after U.S. special operations forces successfully extracted a wounded Air Force colonel who had been hiding in a mountain crevice deep inside Iranian territory for more than 36 hours.

The dramatic rescue and incendiary social media post have injected fresh volatility into the ongoing U.S.-Iran conflict, now entering its sixth week, and have drawn sharp reactions from both allies and adversaries around the world.

The Rescue: "An Easter Miracle"

The colonel, a weapons systems officer aboard an F-15E Strike Eagle, had been missing since Friday after his aircraft was struck by Iranian anti-aircraft fire over western Iran. Both crew members ejected, and while the pilot was recovered within hours, the colonel's fate remained unknown for more than a day.

According to multiple defense officials, the colonel sustained injuries during ejection but managed to hike to a 7,000-foot mountain ridgeline, where he concealed himself inside a narrow rock crevice. Drawing on years of Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape training, he evaded Iranian search teams while transmitting intermittent signals to overhead U.S. surveillance aircraft.

The rescue operation, launched in the early hours of Sunday morning, involved hundreds of special operations personnel — including members of the Army's elite Delta Force and Navy SEAL Team Six — supported by dozens of warplanes and helicopters. CIA operatives reportedly mounted a deception campaign in advance of the extraction to divert Iranian forces away from the colonel's position.

Three of the rescue aircraft, flying at dangerously low altitudes through mountainous terrain, were struck by Iranian ground fire during the operation. All aircraft returned safely.

Trump hailed the mission as an "Easter Miracle," writing on Truth Social that the colonel "was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran" and praising the bravery of the rescue teams.

The Threat: "Open The Strait Or You'll Be Living In Hell"

But the celebratory tone quickly gave way to something far more confrontational. In a follow-up post that has since gone viral, Trump issued a direct and profane warning to Iranian leadership over the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz — the critical waterway through which roughly 20 percent of the world's oil supply passes.

The president set what appeared to be a hard deadline, posting separately: "Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!" He further warned that Tuesday would be "Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran" — an apparent reference to planned strikes on Iranian infrastructure if Tehran does not comply.

A Conflict With No Clear End

The latest developments come against the backdrop of an increasingly complex and costly military campaign. On Friday alone, the U.S. lost two aircraft — the F-15E over western Iran and an A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft near the Strait of Hormuz. The A-10 pilot was able to fly to friendly airspace before ejecting safely.

Iran has also escalated its own operations, reportedly striking Gulf oil refinery infrastructure and continuing to enforce a de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Global oil prices surged again Sunday amid the heightened rhetoric.

Meanwhile, the war has expanded regionally. Israel launched a ground incursion into southern Lebanon in pursuit of Iran-backed Hezbollah fighters. Lebanese authorities report that more than 1,400 people have been killed during the Israeli operation, including at least 54 health workers — a claim Israel has denied.

Congress is facing mounting pressure to weigh in on the scope and authorization of the conflict, with several lawmakers from both parties calling for emergency hearings.

What Comes Next

With Trump's self-imposed Tuesday deadline now looming, analysts warn that the next 48 hours could prove decisive. If Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the president's remarks suggest a significant escalation in strikes targeting Iranian civilian and military infrastructure — a move that could draw further international condemnation and raise the risk of a broader regional war.

The Pentagon has not issued a formal statement confirming the specifics of Trump's threats, and Defense Department officials have so far declined to comment on operational timelines.

For now, the rescued colonel is reportedly receiving medical treatment at a U.S. military facility in the region and is expected to make a full recovery.

This is a developing story. USA Herald will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
