Former Billionaire & FTX Founder/CEO Sam Bankman-Fried in Court for His Alleged Cryptocurrency Scam

Towards the end of 2022, the world became aware of a massive cryptocurrency collapse on the beloved exchange, FTX. Billions were lost, Sam Bankman-Fried was left standing in the rubble of his failed plan.

The criminal case is considered “one of the biggest financial frauds in history.” Cole Schotz PC defense attorney, Michael Weinstein, is one of the lawyers representing the 30-year old scam artist. Cole says “Maybe he’s (referring to Bankman-Fried) the Madoff for millennials.”

Weinstein also said, “He’s like Madoff because of the sheer numbers — and also the alleged fraud from the very beginning. Where is that money? Was it just phantom money? Just numbers on a ledger?”
