A heated argument over a parking space in a Florida Walmart lot turned deadly Tuesday when a woman pulled a gun and fatally shot a 62-year-old man, according to authorities investigating the shocking incident.

The confrontation, captured on cellphone and dashcam video, unfolded midday in North Lauderdale. The woman, who has not been named, remained at the scene and told detectives she acted in self-defense, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the woman and Bart Diguglielmo got into a verbal altercation over the parking space. Dashcam footage shows the woman getting out of her vehicle and pointing a handgun at Diguglielmo while holding a cellphone in her other hand. The two moved around the lot as the woman repeatedly told him to “walk away.”

Diguglielmo was seen initially walking away before turning back toward her. Moments later, gunfire rang out, and Diguglielmo was left sitting and lying on the ground for several minutes before law enforcement arrived.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

This tragic event highlights how quickly everyday disputes can escalate into violence, especially in public spaces like parking lots where tensions can run high. The woman’s claim of self-defense will now be scrutinized by the 17th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, which has not yet received the full case file from law enforcement.
