England wasted little time establishing control.

Declan Rice opened the scoring less than three minutes into the match with a powerful long-range strike, his first goal of the tournament. The early breakthrough energized Thomas Tuchel's squad, which continued to attack aggressively.

Just 15 minutes later, defender Ezri Konsa headed home a perfectly delivered Rice corner kick to double England's advantage.

Bukayo Saka then took center stage.

With France threatening to erase the entire deficit, England found its answer through Saka once again.

After Djed Spence was fouled inside the penalty area late in regulation, Saka calmly converted the penalty kick to complete his hat trick and restore England's two-goal cushion.

France refused to surrender, however.

Ousmane Dembélé scored deep into stoppage time to make it 5-4 and create one final moment of suspense.

The drama ended moments later when substitute Jude Bellingham scored in the 98th minute, sealing England's memorable 6-4 victory.

Bellingham finished the tournament with seven goals, setting a World Cup scoring record for an England player.
