The Wilmington Police Department in North Carolina is investigating two incidents of shootings and a stabbing that occurred on Monday night.
According to the police department, the shootings happened in S. 15th Street and Meares Street at around 11:00 p.m. and it is yet to determine where and when the stabbing incident occurred. The department learned that a 36-year old male was stabbed and dropped off at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center (HNRMC) that evening. The stabbing victim is in stable condition.
Wilmington Police officers responded to a multiple-round Shotspotter alert to the 800 block of S. 15th Street just before 11:00 p.m. and found a 41-year-old male victim outside his residence. A male suspect who came up from behind tried to rob the victim, whose dog runs out of the yard. The suspect shot at the dog and the victim who was not injured. His dog suffered a non-life threatening injury.
While still on the scene at S. 15th Street, officers heard multiple shots coming from the direction of 13th and Meares Streets. Officers responded and found two victims, a male, and a female both 24 years old. The male victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound while the female victim has minor injuries from broken glass. The male was transported to the NHRMC for treatment while the female was treated on the scene.
