The murder trial of Bryan Kohberger, charged with the brutal killing of four University of Idaho students in November 2022, has pivoted its focus towards investigative genetic genealogy (IGG) evidence. 

Kohberger's attorneys have pressed for access to the sealed IGG evidence. They are invoking their client's 6th Amendment right to effective assistance of counsel.
