The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, is forcefully denying shocking claims made in the new royal exposé “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” which alleges a physical fight between him and his uncle, Prince Andrew.

It also claims that the royal family made critical remarks about Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry calls several of the allegations from the book “false.”

In a statement to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for Harry said, “I can confirm neither of those things are true. Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry.”

The rebuttal follows an excerpt from the book by royal historian Andrew Lownie, published in The Daily Mail, which describes a dramatic 2013 confrontation between the Duke of Sussex and Prince Andrew. 

The book claims a “heated argument” escalated into “punches being thrown,” leaving Andrew with a bloody nose. It also asserts that Andrew labeled Meghan an “opportunist” and questioned the longevity of the marriage.

The biography covers personal failings and royal scandals in a monarchy that now faces modern public scrutiny.

Family Tensions Described in Entitled 

The book paints a broader picture of fractured family dynamics. According to author Andrew Lownie, Prince William is actively working to remove Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge, the Windsor estate he shares with Sarah Ferguson. 

This alleged effort stems from years of tension and William’s disdain for Andrew’s public image following his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew, who has stepped back from royal duties, continues to face scrutiny over his past associations.

The new publication deepens the growing body of books that have scrutinized the royal family since Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles in 2020 and relocated to California.

Harry’s Push Toward Reconciliation

Despite the controversy, Prince Harry has reportedly taken significant steps to improve relations with the monarchy. He has begun sharing his public schedule with Buckingham Palace and Prince William’s office in a move seen by insiders as a “potential turning point.”

Earlier this year, a scheduling conflict occurred when Harry’s unannounced humanitarian trip to Angola overshadowed Queen Camilla’s birthday portrait. In response, Harry agreed to coordinate future engagements to avoid such clashes.

A royal insider told The Mail, “Conflicts of interest or clashes of publicity were relished and even perhaps encouraged by the Sussexes. Now, Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking.”

Personal Reflection and Hope for Family Unity

Prince Harry’s Angola visit carried personal meaning, as he retraced Princess Diana’s iconic landmine advocacy steps.

In a statement, Harry said, “As a father to young children, it breaks my heart to see innocent children still living and playing next to minefields.” His trip included teaching safety lessons and giving speeches in Portuguese, earning him praise but also uncoordinated headlines.

In a BBC interview in May, Harry voiced his desire for peace: “I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore.”

Harry is expected to return to London in late September for a WellChild charity event. While he won’t visit Balmoral, sources say there is a chance he could meet King Charles during a scheduled London medical visit.

“I don’t know how much longer my father has,” Harry told the BBC, emphasizing the emotional urgency of healing old wounds.
