Manning’s sentencing is scheduled for January 3, with prosecutors seeking six months of home confinement, followed by two years of supervised release, and the forfeiture of $34,470. Manning’s attorney, William Sinnott of Hinckley Allen & Snyder, anticipates seeking probation.

 Speculation Surrounds the Guilty Plea

During Manning’s plea hearing, Judge Burroughs suggested that Manning had little choice but to resolve the case without a trial, given the jury’s rapid conviction of Forte. Sinnott, Manning’s attorney, called this suggestion “speculation,” emphasizing that Manning believes a guilty plea is in his and his family’s best interest.

The trial for Forte, who was found guilty of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and aiding and abetting securities fraud, is set for November 15.
