B.M., lying prone and encircled by rioters, endured several blows from the inverted American flag on the pole and other objects. Recalling the harrowing experience, he expressed his belief that the rioters intended to drag him as deep into the crowd as possible.
Post-Attack Conduct and Sentence
Following the attack, Stager demonstrated a flagrant lack of remorse. According to the Justice Department, he towered over the beaten officer, hurling verbal abuse and leveling accusations of treason at those within the Capitol building.
Stager, beyond his 52-month sentence, is required to pay a restitution of $2,000 and complete 36 months of supervised release. Despite his claim to an FBI tipster that he believed he was attacking a member of the Antifa group, evidence from the scene clearly showed the officer wearing a police vest.
This Arkansas Capitol rioter is one of over 1,000 individuals arrested in connection with the January 6 riot, as reported by the Department of Justice.
