Currently, David is blind in both eyes, and the funds raised will help cover home modifications, devices, and technology to assist with her vision loss. Additionally, the funds will be used for transportation to and from care facilities. The GoFundMe has a $25,000 goal and has raised over $9,000 so far.
In addition to the GoFundMe, the Assist the Officer Foundation hosted a barbecue event to raise more funds for the officers.
Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia, who spent time with Officer David, praised her spirit, saying, “One of the strongest women I’ve ever met. She has an unbelievable spirit and sense of humor. Amazing, an absolute warrior.”
