On Monday, Barack Obama campaigned against Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore and strongly encouraged Alabamians to vote for Democratic candidate Doug Jones, as reported by CNN.

Obama delivered the following remarks on Monday afternoon via robocalls:

"This one's serious. You can't sit it out. Doug Jones is a fighter for equality, for progress. Doug will be our champion for justice. So get out and vote, Alabama."

Unlike Obama, President Trump has actively campaigned against Jones, while supporting his opponent Moore.

Obama's endorsement comes on the eve of the Alabama Senate election. While Jones has faced criticism for what some voters view as extreme leftist policies, Moore has landed in hot water as well. The Republican Alabama Senate candidate is currently facing several accusations of sexual misconduct. Multiple women have alleged that he behaved inappropriately with them when they were young teens. However, on Saturday, Beverly Nelson, one of Moore's accusers admitted to forging a key piece of alleged evidence.
