The 2024 election is approaching quickly, with Kamala Harris and Donald Trump making final bids for the Oval Office. Recently, Beyoncé publically endorsed Harris at an event in Houston, Texas. Kelly Rowland and Tyler Perry accompanied her as they all made their speeches, showing support for Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party.

Previously, it had been falsely reported that the Cowboy Carter singer would be attending the DNC and, of course, hadn't shown up because she wasn't booked. Beyoncé did, however, allow Harris to use her song "Freedom" in presidential campaign videos. Days ago, it was confirmed that Beyoncé would attend the rally on October 26th in her hometown of Houston, Texas. During the rally, she was joined by singer and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland.

"We are so happy to be standing here as proud, country, Texas women. Supporting and celebrating the one and only Vice President Kamala Harris," Beyoncé began her speech, "The woman who's been pushing for what this country really needs right now: unity. It's impossible not to feel the energy in this room, the positivity, the community, the humanity. We are at the precipice of an incredible shift, the brink of history."

She continued, in part, by expressing her wishes for the future of the country, not as a singer or celebrity, but as an American and a mother. "I'm not here as a celebrity, I'm not here as a politician, I'm here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in. A world where we have the freedom to control our bodies. A world where we're not divided. Our past, our present, our future meet us here."

The Rally Continued

Beyoncé references one of the most critical issues that the two major parties are divided on: abortion rights. The issue has always been a hot topic in American politics, but even more so since Roe v Wade was overturned in the Supreme Court, leaving abortion rights up to the states rather than being a federally guaranteed right. Beyoncé continued her speech by expressing her desire to create a better world for her daughters, one that previous generations of women fought for.

Icons Tyler Perry and Kelly Rowland also joined Beyoncé on the major platform, expressing their support for Kamala Harris. Rowland made a strong speech, highlighting how important this time of the election is and the importance of voting for your beliefs. Tyler Perry also made a speech, calling out some of Trump's policies, the exclusionary nature of his rhetoric, and that of his associates.

As the Democrats and Republicans race to secure the last of their votes before Election Day, many more influential figures are sure to cast their support in what will be a historic U.S. election.
