Earlier this year, Joe Biden went on the record confirming he will be pursuing a second term in the White House. Thus far, Biden's also made it clear that he believes if the 2024 presidential election comes down to a rematch against Trump, he'll ultimately be able to beat the former president again.

Certain Americans aren't so sure about this, though. In fact, various polls have shown Biden and Trump to be neck-in-neck with one another.

For some Democrats, this is too close for comfort. In different circles, there's also been talk about swapping out Biden (as the presumptive 2024 Democratic nominee) for someone like California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

This may just be the beginning of the president's problems. According to a new Gallup poll, Biden's seen a double-digit approval dip from a key demographic he needs: Democrats.

The latest findings on Democrats' approval of Biden

Last month, Biden carried an approval rating of 86% among Democratic voters in this country. Fast forward to present day and now only 75% of Democrats approve of the president.

To make matters even worse for Biden, his standing amongst Independents also dropped by 4%. The same decline happened with American adults, too.

Some political analysts believe what's hurting Biden most with Democrats is his clear support for Israel. Unlike some folks on the left, the president has straightforwardly condemned Hamas' attacks on Israel as terrorism.

For certain Democrats with more radical leanings, this doesn't sit well with them. After all, a percentage of folks on the left have made it clear they view Israel as an "apartheid state" and believe the current events in the Middle East constitute "liberation" for Palestinians.

In even more extreme cases, some left-wing individuals even rallied in support of Hamas.

Time will tell

The president and his allies have developed a longstanding pattern of dismissing polls that don't work to their benefit.

Biden's supporters also continue to claim that despite where things currently stand, if the 2024 election ultimately comes down to a rematch of 2020, most Americans will side with the president again.

In the meantime, it remains to be seen if Biden's support for Israel continues to hurt him amongst Democratic voters.
