For instance, the same poll shows only 19% of Independent voters currently approve of Biden. Meanwhile, more than three times as many Independents (67%) confirmed their disapproval of the president.
With Hispanic Americans, Biden likewise remains underwater with more disfavor than favor.
Another hidden factor
Within the past several weeks, the White House has encountered some pushback from its own base.
Democrats are beginning to openly profess that Biden is too old and ineffective to seek a second term in 2024. Likewise, many on the left remain dissatisfied with how the president reacted to the Supreme Court gutting Roe v. Wade.
Much of Biden’s base called for more muscle from him in opposing this. Yet, the Biden administration hasn’t taken too kindly to such feedback.
Recently, the White House lashed out against this criticism with a dismissive statement. The administration, by its own acknowledgment, believes the left-wing complaints against Biden’s reaction to Roe’s downfall aren’t within the Democrat Party’s mainstream base.
