AI Hub to Create Thousands of Jobs
The numbers behind the investment are as staggering as the ambition: over 1,000 permanent positions are expected to be generated by the center, with an additional 2,000 construction-related jobs created during the 10 to 15 years it will take to fully build out the hub.
Brookfield emphasized its continued commitment to Sweden, noting that it has maintained operations in the country since 2018 across a variety of sectors including telecom towers, renewable energy, logistics, and social infrastructure.
A Continental Vision Backed by Billions
With over €100 billion ($114 billion) already deployed globally in digital infrastructure, clean energy, and semiconductor manufacturing, Brookfield has quickly risen as one of the AI sector’s most formidable financial backers. This Sweden investment, however, signals a strategic pivot—away from fragmented, siloed development and toward cohesive sovereign AI capabilities in Europe.
Rashid framed the move as a long-term vision: “This isn’t just an investment—it’s a declaration. Europe must be more than a participant in AI. It must be a leader.”
And with billions on the line, Brookfield appears ready to build the continent’s digital backbone—brick by byte.
