The Christopher Nolan sci-fi film Interstellar is set to reach a new audience, as Peacock prepares to stream the $731 million box-office hit starting November 1. 

This streaming move marks the third platform to host the film, following its prior availability on Paramount+ and Prime Video.

Peacock’s acquisition of Interstellar also coincides with the film's 10th anniversary, offering fans another way to experience Nolan’s cosmic adventure.

About Interstellar

Released in 2014, Interstellar takes place in a dystopian future where Earth faces catastrophic famine and environmental collapse.

 The plot follows a group of astronauts led by Joseph Cooper, played by Matthew McConaughey, as they journey through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humanity.

Alongside McConaughey, the cast features Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Topher Grace, Casey Affleck, and a young Timothée Chalamet. Each star added a depth of talent to this visually stunning narrative.

The film received high praise for its ambition and visual effects, earning a 73% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, five Academy Award nominations, and winning an Oscar for Best Visual Effects. 

Despite some criticism of its dialogue and ending, Interstellar became a monumental hit, grossing $730.8 million globally and securing its place as a staple in Nolan’s celebrated filmography.

10th Anniversary Re-Release

Fans of Interstellar were also pleased to hear about the film’s planned IMAX re-release to celebrate its decade milestone.

Initially set for September, the re-release was delayed to December 7 following rumors about the destruction of the film’s original IMAX prints.

Paramount, however, dispelled these concerns, confirming that the film will return to theaters in collaboration with Warner Bros., featuring both IMAX and digital screenings.

Christopher Nolan Future Projects

Widely regarded as one of the top directors of the 21st century, Nolan has made an indelible mark on Hollywood with films known for their complex storytelling and visual innovation. 

His career spans a series of critically and commercially successful films, including Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy, and Oppenheimer. His recent biopic Oppenheimer broke records, becoming the highest-grossing biographical film with $977 million worldwide and winning seven Academy Awards. 

He was knighted in 2024.

Nolan is working on a secretive new project with Universal Pictures, rumored to feature Spider-Man star Tom Holland and actor Matt Damon, exploring sci-fi and espionage themes. This project follows Nolan’s split from Warner Bros. in 2021, and he has expressed satisfaction with his new collaboration with Universal.

Interstellar will be available for streaming on Peacock on November 1. New fans can discover the film, and longtime fines can revisit this iconic space journey anew.
