The lawsuit filed by Meriden follows a similar suit brought by Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell in state court. Many of the same companies are named as defendants in both cases.

David Buchanan of Seeger Weiss LLP, who is representing Meriden, told Law360 that pharmacy benefit managers and insulin manufacturers have manipulated purchasers into paying inflated prices for more than a decade. Buchanan added, “Patients and plans have been victimized by these companies and their scheme for far too long. Through this litigation, we seek to put an end to these practices and hold these companies accountable for unlawfully profiting at the expense of plan payers, like the city of Meriden.”

Meriden is being represented by a team of lawyers, including Kenneth G. Bartlett of Bartlett Law Offices PC, Becca Timmons, William F. Cash III, Matthew D. Schultz, and Brandon L. Bogle of Levin Papantonio Proctor Buchanan O’Brien Barr & Mougey PA, Benjamin J. Widlanski, Tal J. Lifshitz, Rachel Sullivan, Jorge L. Piedra, and Daniel T.
