Cloverleaf’s other investor, NGP, has been investing in the natural resources and energy transition sectors since 1988. “Having backed hundreds of energy companies in the U.S. over more than 30 years, we believe the opportunity set for clean-powered digital infrastructure development is as compelling as anything we’ve seen before, and the convergence of exceptional talent from both the power and digital sectors at Cloverleaf is truly extraordinary,” NGP partner Sam Stoutner said.

Experienced Leadership Team

The company’s management team includes executives with backgrounds from independent power developers and major data center operators, such as Pattern Energy, ConnectGen, and Microsoft. These industry veterans also contributed to the funding round, according to the statement.

Cloverleaf’s $300 million investment marks a significant milestone in advancing digital infrastructure powered by sustainable energy. As demand for electricity continues to surge, the company’s innovative approach and strategic partnerships position it at the forefront of the transition to a smarter, low-carbon energy system.
