DeSantis Warns of Waning Enthusiasm for Republicans in Post-Campaign Interview

Further expanding on this issue, the governor said Iowa voters specifically told him that despite being lifelong conservatives, they had no interest in casting another ballot for Trump. DeSantis, by his own admission, views this as a “warning sign” Republicans need to take seriously, especially with 2024 being an election year.

The interview then continued with the former White House contender asserting “an enthusiasm problem” and “checked out voters” can hurt the GOP moving forward. DeSantis finally said the Republican Party needs to position itself to win back those voters who now feel disillusioned.

Will the GOP heed the warning?

With less than a year until the next presidential election, time will reveal whether or not the Republican Party manages to revive enthusiasm among the electorate and bring in more voters. To date, DeSantis remains one of many conservatives who’s warned of major problems facing the GOP.
