Walmart and a Dutch manufacturer have issued a voluntary recall of apple juice sold under Walmart’s “Great Value” brand after the FDA found elevated levels of arsenic.

The affected products were sold across East Coast and southern U.S. states, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

These apple juice products, packaged in 8-ounce bottles and sold in 6-packs, were discovered to contain arsenic levels of approximately 13 parts per billion (ppb), slightly exceeding the FDA’s safety threshold of 10 ppb.

Refresco Beverages US Inc., the distributor of the recalled apple juice, initially announced the recall on August 15, 2024, with an update provided on August 26, 2024.

Despite the higher arsenic levels, there have been no reported cases of illness or health issues associated with consuming the affected Great Value brand apple juice.
