MDSP tweeted that the highway between Route 50 and 7th Street was closed due to the incident, with officers present at the scene. Frederick Mayor Michael O’Connor posted on Facebook that personnel from the city’s Division of Fire & Rescue Services (DFRS) were also present at the site, which appeared to be a tanker explosion.
