Google has unified its AI offerings under the name Gemini, simplifying the user experience for its large language model (LLM) and chatbot, previously known as Bard. One of the most exciting features of Gemini Live is the integration of Google's AI image generator, Imagen 3.

It creates various forms of input and output, including text, code, audio, images, and videos.

With Gemini Live, Google introduces a more robust version of its AI chatbot, accessible through a free app for Android devices. On Android, Gemini can even replace Google Assistant, while iOS users can access it via the Google app.

The Power of Gemini Live and Imagen 3

Available to all users—whether on mobile or desktop—Imagen 3 allows for high-quality image creation, even on the free tier. If you ask Gemini to create an image, it now defaults to using Imagen 3.

Google claims Imagen 3 is its best image generation model yet, excelling at producing visually stunning images with fewer errors than earlier versions.

Free and Paid versions

There's a free version of Google Gemini that is accessible via any internet browser.

But the limitation for users on the free plan is the AI tool can't generate images of people. This feature is only available to those subscribed to Gemini Advanced.

A subscription costs $19.99 per month. It includes 2TB of cloud storage and access to Gemini within Google Docs, all part of the Google One AI Premium subscription.

How Imagen 3 Works

Unlike some AI image generators that offer multiple images per prompt, Imagen 3 generates just one image based on each user request.

If you're not satisfied, you can request changes, and the AI will remember your previous instructions while generating a new image. Once you’re happy with the result, you can download it as a high-resolution 2048 x 2048 JPEG.

There’s no limit to the number of images you can create, even on the free tier, as long as they don’t include people.

For those who upgrade to Gemini Advanced, the restriction on generating images of people is lifted, allowing for even more creative freedom.
