A Texas federal judge had issued an injunction against the CTA in December, but a Fifth Circuit panel later vacated that stay. The U.S. government has since asked the Supreme Court to lift the injunction, keeping the CTA in effect for now.
Spizzirri’s attorney, Cory Simmons of Spizzirri Law LLC, explained that the legal challenge stems from concerns about the CTA’s impact on attorney-client privilege, which has not been addressed in earlier rulings. Spizzirri intends to file a motion for a preliminary injunction soon.
Representatives for the U.S. Department of Justice declined to comment.
Spizzirri is represented by Cory S. Simmons of Spizzirri Law LLC. The case is Spizzirri Law LLC and Paul M. Spizzirri v. U.S. Department of the Treasury et al., case number 1:25-cv-00097, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
