Investigators found a farewell message on Noori’s WhatsApp sent to a relative before the attack, stating, “Maybe I won’t be here tomorrow.” However, no evidence has surfaced connecting him to a broader network or organizational planning.
German Terrorist Attack: A Similar Act
The Munich attack closely follows a similar tragic event in Magdeburg just days before Christmas. In that incident, a car was intentionally driven into crowds at a Christmas market, killing two people and injuring nearly 70 others.
According to Saxony-Anhalt Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff, the victims included a young child and an adult. The suspect in the Magdeburg attack, a doctor from Saudi Arabia who has lived in Germany since 2006, used a rental car to carry out the attack.
German authorities have classified both incidents as acts of terrorism.
