Goodwin Procter LLP has taken a significant step towards enforcing its hybrid work policy by implementing cutting-edge technology to monitor its employees’ office attendance, the firm confirmed to Law360. This initiative aims to ensure adherence to the office presence requirements outlined in their work model.

Technology Integration in Monitoring Attendance

In a detailed Tuesday memo, the leadership of Goodwin Procter, including Chair Anthony J. McCusker and managing partner Mark T. Bettencourt, revealed that the firm will deploy personal attendance dashboards. These dashboards are designed to track and report the frequency of employees’ office visits, integrating this data into their performance assessments and sharing it across various firm committees.

The decision to adopt these technological measures was spurred by feedback gathered from a series of town halls hosted by the management committee across Goodwin’s U.S. offices. This feedback highlighted a need for more structured interactions among team members, even when physically present in the office.
