Tech company Hebbia announced Monday the completion of a $130 million Series B funding round, led by venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz, also known as a16z.

Hebbia and Andreessen Horowitz did not disclose specific plans for the new capital, though both noted the tech company is actively hiring. The announcement did not reveal Hebbia’s current valuation.

Previous investors, including Index Ventures, Google Ventures, and billionaire Peter Thiel, also participated in this funding round. Additionally, a16z partner Alex Immerman will join Hebbia’s board of directors. “We believe AI should be more than a transactional chatbot; it should be able to work like a human,” Hebbia’s founder and CEO, George Sivulka, said, referencing other AI software on the market like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
