Abbe Lowell, legal counsel for Hunter Biden, is demanding a review by the congressional ethics watchdog into the conduct of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. The demand came as a response to Greene's presentation of explicit images of Biden during a recent congressional hearing.

Rep. Greene's Controversial Behavior Sparks Legal Backlash

In a letter to the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE), obtained by The Hill, Lowell denounced Greene's actions as a violation of House Ethics rules and standards of official conduct. He asserts that Greene's conduct has consequently degraded the integrity of the entire House of Representatives. Lowell further urges the OCE, if they take their responsibilities earnestly, to firmly condemn and discipline Greene for her actions.

During the House Oversight Committee hearing, the Georgia Republican drew attention when she displayed explicit but censored photographs of Biden, who is now 53. The photos, allegedly showing Biden engaged in sexual acts with various women, were part of Greene's attempt to establish whether Biden had breached the federal Mann Act of 1910. This law prohibits the transportation of women across state lines for immoral purposes.

Greene's display of these controversial images, sourced from Hunter Biden's notorious abandoned laptop, was met with dismay from other members of the committee. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), the ranking member, questioned the appropriateness of such a display. In his letter, Lowell emphasized the importance of the House distancing itself from Greene's unacceptable behavior.

Watchdog Agency May Step In

The OCE, a non-partisan, independent entity created by the House of Representatives, is responsible for reviewing allegations of misconduct involving congressional lawmakers and their staff. Lowell suggests that Greene's actions during the hearing, which he describes as an attempt to "generate some clicks online" and fundraise by causing embarrassment to Hunter Biden, may be subject to scrutiny by the OCE.

Lowell further critiqued Greene's actions as a "political stunt" and argued that rather than evaluating the validity of the testimonies from IRS agents or reviewing tax laws, Greene used her position to generate sensationalist content for the media at the expense of Biden.
