Anthropic Retains WSGR for Long-Awaited IPO Push

AI startup Anthropic has tapped Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC to lead its legal strategy for a long-anticipated IPO, The Financial Times reported Wednesday. The public debut could arrive as early as 2026, as the San Francisco-based AI developer races rival OpenAI to the markets.

Anthropic is allegedly exploring a fresh private fundraising round that could push its valuation beyond $300 billion. Discussions with investment banks, however, remain “preliminary and informal,” the report said.

Schroders Explores Selling Benchmark Capital

British asset manager Schroders is weighing whether to sell its financial planning arm, Benchmark Capital, Reuters reported Wednesday. The firm has enlisted advisors, including Perella Weinberg Partners, to evaluate a possible sale amid interest from private equity suitors.

Talks remain early, and a sale is not guaranteed. Schroders has been shifting strategy toward expanding its wealth management business and targeting more affluent clients. Benchmark currently serves more than 1,000 adviser clients.
