His plan to make content safer is to grow and develop an artificial intelligence program that will find the offensive/mis-informative/bullying content and proactively remove it. On a smaller level that is happening now, but in one year, Zuckerberg believes the technology will be even stronger and faster.
“Over the course of our three-year roadmap through the end of 2019, we expect to have trained our systems to proactively detect the vast majority of problematic content.”
In concluding his note, Zuckerberg acknowledges how far they have to go before Facebook can be everything he wants it to be: A positive force to bring people together, not tear them apart.
“There is no single solution to these challenges, and these are not problems you ever fully fix. But we can improve our systems over time … We will continue making progress as we increase the effectiveness of our proactive enforcement and develop a more open, independent, and rigorous policy-making process.”
