In addition, Meta will drop restrictions on discussions about topics such as gender and immigration that Zuckerberg described as “out of touch with mainstream discourse.”

Collaboration with the U.S. Government
Meta plans to collaborate with President-elect Donald Trump’s administration to lobby foreign governments to ease restrictions on its platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.
“By going after us and other U.S. companies, it has emboldened other countries to go even further,” Zuckerberg stated, emphasizing the need for U.S. government support in pushing back against global censorship efforts.
“In recent years we’ve developed increasingly complex systems to manage content across our platforms, partly in response to societal and political pressure to moderate content. This approach has gone too far.”
