Most Independents Believe Trump Got a Fair Trial in New York

Interestingly, these views largely mirror what most Americans believe about the 45th president’s latest legal problems. CBS News/YouGov reports that 56% of people across the nation think Trump’s trial lived up to fair standards. By contrast, only 44% of the American public disagrees.

Despite public perceptions of last week’s verdict, the former president is letting the country know what he makes of it all. In social media posts and public appearances after the trial, Trump blasted the judge who oversaw his case. He’s also warned that Democrats made him a “political prisoner” via a “scam” and “rigged” trial.

Nevertheless, Trump will face formal sentencing for the 34 convictions on July 11.
