According to the British Journal of Sports Medicine, people who partake in mild exercise for just 22 minutes per day can potentially offset the health risks of continuously sitting down.

The research likewise revealed that an individual has a lower susceptibility to dying earlier when they're physically active. Going for a walk or hike, trekking up a hill, or even just doing work in the garden all fall under the moderate exercise category.

On a weekly basis, people should strive to get at least 150 minutes of exercise. 22 minutes per day, however, is an easy way for individuals with busy lifestyles to break this down.

Sometimes, the notion of exercise leads to thoughts of profuse sweating and bodily pain. Yet, there are fun ways to get the body moving and reap the health benefits of physical activity.

This can be as simple as going for a walk in the park with a friend or following YouTube workout videos for beginners. Other great ways to make exercise fun include taking a yoga class or joining another fitness group at a gym.
