Neptune to Wind Down External Services
Neptune’s co-founder and CEO Piotr Niedźwiedź said the company has long centered its work on the iterative grind of training workflows — where breakthroughs often hide in tiny fluctuations buried in oceans of data. Joining OpenAI, he said, will allow both teams “to innovate on tools at a whole new level.”
Niedźwiedź described Neptune as a “metrics dashboard company” that sits at the crossroads of computation and model understanding. As part of the transition, Neptune will begin winding down external services in the coming months, offering existing customers guidance on the next steps.
The acquisition marks yet another expansion of OpenAI’s research infrastructure — and a sign that the race to optimize training at unprecedented scale is accelerating faster than ever.
