The panel selected the Northern District of California as the transferee court, pointing out that 19 of the 31 filed cases — along with 24 potential tag-along actions — are already pending there. Roblox, Discord and Meta are also headquartered in the district.
Roblox Faces Multiple Legal Fronts
The consolidation comes as Roblox confronts other class action challenges. In one case, parents allege the company allowed minors to gamble using its digital currency, Robux. Another lawsuit claims Roblox violated children’s privacy by tracking their data without proper consent.
As the litigation advances, the consolidated proceedings promise to test how far platform responsibility extends in protecting children — and whether the virtual playground became, as plaintiffs allege, a door left unlocked.
