Amid speculations, some folks believe the sickly appearance of Duolingo represents the owl being “sick” of telling people to take their lessons. All in all, the change is in good fun and it’s not an outlier.
Almost a year ago, this app famously switched to appear as if the popular owl was melting. Users who install Duolingo’s widget on their phones will also know it self-modifies to keep track of their language learning streaks, remind them to take lessons, and more.
Moving forward, fans should expect the Duo owl to change periodically, if for nothing else, to keep the app trending.
