Sustainability is changing buying habits
Environmental concerns are reshaping the industry.
Shoppers are showing stronger interest in biodegradable materials, reusable cloth diapers, and products made without harsh chemicals. Many brands are responding with plant-based ingredients, recyclable packaging, and lower-waste designs.
Companies are also investing in research to reduce the environmental impact of disposable diapers, which have long faced criticism for landfill waste.
Smart features enter the market
Technology is starting to play a role, too. Some newer diapers now include moisture sensors that alert caregivers when a change is needed. These “smart diapers” are aimed at improving comfort and preventing skin irritation, especially in hospitals, care facilities, and for newborns.
Although still niche, these features point to how innovation is moving beyond basic absorbency.
Online shopping boosts sales
E-commerce is becoming a major sales channel.
Parents and caregivers increasingly prefer ordering diapers online for convenience, subscription deliveries, and bulk discounts. Digital sales are expanding faster than traditional retail, especially for baby products.
At the same time, supermarkets, pharmacies, and specialty baby stores remain key distribution points in many markets.
