Blue Moon time

When two full moons occur within the same calendar month, the second full moon is referred to as a blue moon.

This rare astronomical event is eagerly anticipated, as it presents a unique opportunity to witness a slightly larger and brighter full moon known as a “super blue moon.” 

Despite the moniker, the “super blue moon” on August 30, 2023, will appear much like any other full moon, providing a magnificent spectacle in the night sky.

The last occurrence of a blue moon was on October 31, 2020, and stargazers will have to wait until May 31, 2026, to witness the next one.
