Founded in 1965, Subway is a popular restaurant that’s known for its six-inch and one-foot-long sandwiches. Many people consider this establishment to be a healthier alternative to fast food, given the meats, vegetables, and other items they can have included in their meals.
To date, Subway is based in over 100 countries with about 37,000 locations in total. People can order not just directly at the restaurant, but also via food delivery apps like Uber Eats, GrubHub, and DoorDash.
Time has shown that all dining establishment run into issues from time to time. Whether it’s having to shut down due to natural disasters or rising overhead expenses, challenges with running a business are inevitable.
This week, Subway is facing a class action lawsuit which accuses the company of deceptive advertising.
What to know about legal action against Subway
Anna Tollison, a resident of Queens, NYC, is driving this lawsuit against the fast food restaurant. According to Tollison, Subway opted to “materially overstate” the amount of cheese and meat that goes onto its sandwiches. She then asserts that photographic marketing, in particular, is the most deceptive aspect of Subway’s promotional activities.
