As Super Tuesday looms large, Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley is making her presence felt in the Lone Star State.

She held a campaign event on the Fort Worth Stockyards at Tannahill's Tavern and Music Hall. And spoke to a standing-room-only crowd of an estimated 1,000 people.

Last week former President Trump was in Texas with Governor Greg Abbott to address the border crisis. Trump criticized the Biden administration and the Democratic leaders of Arizona and California. 

Haley exuded confidence and determination, buoyed by her recent victory in the Republican primary in Washington, D.C., which marked a historic milestone as the first Republican woman to win.

865 Republican delegates are up for grabs in Texas and 14 other states on Super Tuesday. And 1,215 delegates will be needed to secure the Republican nomination.

Haley is very much the underdog in the race.  Trump currently has won 244 delegates to Haley’s 43.

Last Chance for Nikki Haley 

Haley's campaign has been intensifying its efforts to gain traction in Texas. But she trails former President Donald Trump in the polls across every state voting Tuesday.

15 states are prepared to cast their votes for over a third of the Republican delegates. 

Trump has dominated throughout the primary season. And Haley was asked by CBS News Texas if this is “now or never for her.” 

Haley addressed the question of whether this moment represents a make-or-break juncture for her bid. Emphasizing the importance of Texans making their voices heard she urged Texas voters to seize the opportunity to shape the future of the country.

Haley faces an uphill battle in the polls. Despite acknowledging the primary trends, many attendees at the rally were vocal in their support for Haley. They are upset about the division among Americans in the last 8 years.

Most of those voting for Haley in the primary insist that if she loses, they will vote for Trump over Biden in November.

She returned to her home state of South Carolina to await the outcome of Super Tuesday.
