Per Mike Sievert, the CEO of T-Mobile, the company wants to limit its expenditures tied to external resources and employees. However, T-Mobile workers who handle customer service and retail affairs have job security for now and needn’t worry about furloughs.
It appears that part of what’s motivated T-Mobile’s decision to lay off so many staffers is customer acquisition costs. According to Sievert, the phony company now has to spend more money on getting and maintaining customers than it did even several quarters previously.
Hence, the employees who the company deems to be the least useful are the ones to fall on the sword.

In sharing news about the upcoming layoffs, Sievert likewise confirmed that employees set to lose their jobs within the weeks ahead will receive advance notice.
T-Mobile likewise announced that anyone furloughed can look forward to severance packages. Granted, the particulars of each package will depend upon each employee’s amount of time spend on the job and other factors.
