Eric Ronald Holder Jr. has been sentenced to 60 years to life in prison for the murder of rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Holder was found guilty of shooting the rapper outside his clothing store in South Los Angeles in March 2019. Prosecutors alleged that Holder approached Hussle over allegations that he had called him a snitch.

The court sentenced Holder to 25 years to life for the murder charge, an extra 25 years to firearm enhancements added to the charge, and an additional 10 years for injuring two other men during the incident.

Holder’s father submitted a letter to the court apologizing on behalf of his son and highlighting the circumstances of his son’s childhood and his mental health.

Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke II acknowledged the mental health issues presented by Holder’s defense but also recognized the devastation caused to the victims and their families. The judge stated that the sentence balances the two.
