The Assumption That Didn’t Hold

For years, public concern has centered around a familiar fear: that increasingly powerful AI systems—larger, more advanced, more personalized—would naturally become more persuasive.

The data tells a different story.

Personalization, often cited as the primary risk factor, showed minimal impact. Larger models, despite their increased capabilities, did not significantly outperform smaller ones in persuasion.
