On Wednesday, former New York City mayor turned 2020 Democrat Mike Bloomberg announced the end of his campaign.

Bloomberg entered into the race many months after other candidates and attracted immense criticism for his manner of funding. Republicans and Democrats alike accused the billionaire businessman of attempting to buy his way into the nomination.

In the wake of Bloomberg's withdrawal from the 2020 presidential election, President Trump himself shared some thoughts. During Bloomberg's time as a candidate, he repeatedly took aim at Trump in his ads. The two politicians also frequently sparred with one another on Twitter, prompting the president to nickname Bloomberg "Mini Mike."

Now, in the wake of the latter's failed campaign, Trump has deemed the ordeal as Bloomberg's "worst and most embarrassing experience."

Trump on Bloomberg's Failed Run for President

Yesterday morning, the president took to Twitter after news of Bloomberg's withdrawal from the 2020 race. In essence, Trump declared that the former New York City mayor never had "what it takes" to become president. Trump also pointed out after spending one billion dollars on a failed candidacy, Bloomberg will now devote his resources to helping Joe Biden, but to no avail.

Shortly thereafter, the president followed up with another tweet. This time, Trump predicted that Bloomberg will fire the individuals who encouraged him into the "MESS" of running for president.

Bloomberg's Endorsement of Joe Biden

When Bloomberg got into the race, he cited his belief that no other Democrat could beat Trump as the reason why. However, in the wake of the businessman's poor performance on Super Tuesday, Bloomberg put out a different narrative when explaining his decision to drop out.

In a statement, Bloomberg declared that "defeating Donald Trump" is what ultimately motivated him to exit the 2020 election. Later in this statement came a full-fledged endorsement of Joe Biden, a candidate that Bloomberg once stated had no chance against Trump.

An excerpt from the former 2020 Democrat's endorsement of Biden reads as follows:

"I’ve known Joe for a very long time. I know his decency, his honesty, and his commitment to the issues. [...] Joe has fought for working people his whole life. Today I am glad to endorse him – and I will work to make him the next president of the United States."
