VP Kamala Harris Secures Enough Delegates to Win Democratic Nomination

Delegates – central to the vice president winning her party’s nomination – also started lining up behind her. Within hours of Harris becoming a presidential contender, reports indicated she secured one-fourth of the necessary delegates to become the Democratic nominee.

Then, on Monday, Americans learned the vice president garnered more than the 1,976 necessary delegates for the nomination. After weeks of division within the Democratic Party about Biden’s fitness to run for office, it seems that Democrats are now unified and ready to see Harris take on Trump.

Will Republicans need to update their campaigning strategies?

Republicans just held their convention last week. During this time, Sen. J.D. Vance accepted the GOP’s vice presidential nomination, solidifying the Trump-Vance ticket.

During the convention, Republicans also based much of their talking points on highlighting why they deem Biden as unfit for reelection. Though with Harris taking Biden’s place at a somewhat unexpected time, Trump and his allies will have to change their campaigning techniques.
