Google and YouTube are the latest big tech players shifting into Web 3.0 fields such as nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and cryptocurrencies. The tech giants shared new job postings for Web3 work.

Most Web3 platforms or protocols are hosted by the giants of Web 2.0, including Google Cloud and Amazon’s AWS.

YouTube, Google’s video subsidiary posted jobs for a product designer and director of product management for Web3 projects, according to two job postings. CEO Susan Wojcicki wrote in her annual public letter that the platform is looking at things like NFTs for creators.

YouTube is looking for a professional with 15 years of work experience and experience in cryptocurrencies for the director of product management role. That may include simply “buying, owning, and trading cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and tokens,” the posting said. The candidate will also be asked to create the roadmap for “YouTube Web3”.

Meanwhile, the product designer role at YouTube will be an experienced tech professional with experience in “crafting digital interfaces” and who would “lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features.” The company said this will be part of an expanding team driving the use by YouTube creators of digital goods like NFTs.
