Attorney General Bill Barr, just days away from leaving office after his resignation, has delivered one last dagger to the heart of President Donald Trump.

In a major announcement on Monday the outgoing attorney general said that he would not appoint a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden, son of President-elect Joe Biden.

“I think to the extent that there’s an investigation, I think that it’s being handled responsibly and professionally currently within the department and to this point, I have not seen a reason to appoint a special counsel and I have no plan to do so before I leave,” he said.

A reporter asked the obvious question, with no special counsel if he frightened that the Biden administration would end the probe in Hunter Biden.

“I’m hoping that the next administration handles that matter responsibly,” he said.

Yeah, sure, the next president is going to investigate his own son.

Barr announced his resignation last week amidst bad blood between him and the president, though his resignation letter made it appear as though none existed.

“Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job!

“As per the letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen, an outstanding person, will become Acting Attorney General. Highly respected Richard Donoghue will be taking over the duties of Deputy Attorney General. Thank you to all!” the president said on Twitter.

The president had railed against Barr on Twitter since it was discovered that Barr hid the investigation that could have changed people’s decision to vote for former Vice President Joe Biden.

“IF Biden gets in, nothing will happen to Hunter or Joe. Barr will do nothing, and the new group of partisan killers coming in will quickly kill it all. Same thing with Durham. We caught them cold, spying, treason & more (the hard part), but ‘Justice’ took too long. Will be DOA!” the president said.

“Why didn’t Bill Barr reveal the truth to the public, before the Election, about Hunter Biden. Joe was lying on the debate stage that nothing was wrong, or going on – Press confirmed. Big disadvantage for Republicans at the polls!” the president said.
