Prosecutors Push Back on Alan Jackson “Not Guilty” statement

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman strongly rejected any suggestion that the case is weak, projecting confidence in the prosecution’s evidence.

“We are fully confident that a jury will convict Nick Reiner beyond a reasonable doubt of the brutal murder of his parents — Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner,” Hochman said outside court.

With Jackson gone, Reiner will now be represented by a publicly funded attorney. To qualify, defendants must demonstrate they lack the financial means to hire private counsel. This has raised questions, given that Rob Reiner’s net worth has been estimated at roughly $200 million.

The Alleged Crime: Murdering his Father and Mother

Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead on December 14 in the bedroom of their Brentwood, Los Angeles home. Authorities reported that both victims suffered fatal stab wounds. The investigation quickly focused on their son, Nick Reiner, who was subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
