News of AOC’s interview with New Yorker Radio is already making the rounds on social media. Calling for the abolition of DHS is something which many Americans will view as radical, especially conservatives. Ocasio-Cortez also hasn’t hesistated to tweet about her issues with the department.

At this time, the DHS has not officially responded to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s interview. It is unlikely that the organization will face abolition, for reasons previously stated.
